From the Robertson Valley and run by the Jonker family, Weltevrede is a fourth generation family vineyard with one of the oldest vineyards in the country (declared a national heritage site and still producing small quantities of Muscat de Hambourg). Weltevrede itself produces a range of Sparkling wines, two fantastic dessert wines and a range of other delights. The simplicity range is the brain child of Steyn Fullard, their marketing manager, the labels are open and approachable with the key flavour printed boldly across the label, but the wines are all made by Philip Jonker. The wines are very approachable, while remaining exceptionally high quality.

Weltevrede also started a trust fund called The Edge of Life. This fund pays out once a year to charities who specifically focusses on the restoration of self worth in individuals. 50c of every bottle of Weltevrede wine sold gets added to this fund. This year they sent a local man to University, he's always worked the harvest in Bonnievale (their Ward of Roberston) and as everyone got to know him they realised he has great potential, but had never had the opportunity to study... so they offered to enrol and sponsor him, and on his first day Philip drove him to his registration and helped him into his new student accommodation.
